Summer Plans.....

My plans for this summer are to go camping! Every summer my whole family gets together and we all go camping at Detroit Lake! We always go to Hoover campground. I really love it there because its really nice being outdoors. I sleep in a tent with my children and everybody else has trailers. I think there is no fun in camping if your going to sleep in a trailer. Some other things we do while camping are boating. We don't own one, but we always rent one and it's so much fun! Most of the guys in the family just go fishing all day. I love to go hiking in the woods and find crazy things. One time I saw deer, and I took a picture of it. Seeing the deer was really cool because I was close to it. After lunch time there everybody takes naps. During nap time I'm going to read my book! There is nothing like reading a book with the sound of the wilderness! During summer I'm also going to be going to summer school here! That's going to be a blast too! I love coming to school because it's my get away from my kids, and I'm improving my reading skills at the same time! So that's my summer!

May And Me.....

May in this book relates to me because she gets all depressed easy. After her sister died she got all sensitive. Well for me after my grandma died I get really mad, or sad easy. I was really close with my grandma. Since she has passed away little things get to me. I'm also very sensitive because I grew up with my mom and step-dad. I never got to know my real dad until now. I get so depressed to the point where I think my life sucks, but in the end everything turns out going better. I'm unlike May because she decided to end her life by committing suicide. That's just something I don't think I would ever do. It comes to mind but I would never succeed with it because I just think of my kids, and what I would put them through if I committed suicide. I could never do such a thing to my children.

Prediction......

When Lily tells August the truth about herself and Rosaleen, I think August will be upset that she lied the whole time. I also think that August is hiding some things about her Lily's mom, so they both just spit out everything. Then maybe August tells Lily a little something about her mom, maybe shows her the stuff she has there.

Shaneisa Green....

I know this girl named Shaneisa Green. She is like my cousin because her grandma fostered my real dad years ago. She is 20 years old just like me. Her mom, Greta Green was also a real close friend of my mom's. They both went to McNary High School together and bullied kids. Shaneisa is so close to me now. Even though we are not blood related, we still tell people we are blood cousins. We are always hanging out together. If somebody messes with me or looks at me in the wrong way my close friend Shaneisa is always there for me. I am the only girl of 4 brothers, so she is like my sister too! I love her to death and she loves me to death. We can both count on each other whenever!

Evaluation.....

What's The Best Part About The Book?

The best part about this book is how detailed the author is as she writes this book. When Becca reads out loud I can imagine all these pictures in my head. It's also good that Lily broke Rosaleen out of the hospital and traveled to South Carolina. Then they met August, and she let them stay there. That was really nice of her.

Whats The Worst Thing About The Book?

The worst part of the book was when Rosaleen got beaten by those men. I think that's just wrong of those men to do that to her. What gets to me is that the officer didn't do anything to stop them.

The Personality Of May Boatwright.....

May Boatwright's personality is very sensitive. She always cries. She also puts notes between rocks of her emotions and feelings at the wailing wall. Sometimes August has to calm her down by talking to her or by giving her baths. May really acts like she has extra strong feelings, and like it's her way or the highway. I think the way she acts has a lot to do with the death of her sister. When May gets mad or sad she always starts to sing the song, "Oh Susana," and walks away. When May cries, she cries like bloody Mary. Other than that I think May is a nice person.

My Wonderful Weekend In The Sun!!!!!!!!

During the long, sunny weekend I had a blast! On Friday after school I went home and hung out with my sister in law and niece! We just played with the kids, and talked about life, and boys! Then she ended up staying the night with me. We stayed awake almost the whole night talking. Then on Saturday we decided to go swimming in the pool at my apartments. We took our kids swimming and we swam with them. We had so much fun, and so did our kids! Then on Sunday we just relaxed, and watched some movies. We also organized my house because I just moved there last weekend. On Monday, my mom text me about a family barbecue at her house at 2, so we got the kids ready, and ourselves, and went to my moms house! All my family showed up and we started to cook. We had carne asada, macaroni salad, green salad, potato salad, my uncles homemade hamburgers, hot dogs, and fajitas! The food was great! We all played family games like dodge ball, red rover red rover, and some bean bag game my uncle bought. I really liked it because everybody played even my aunts and uncles and parents and cousins! Family get togethers really bring us all closer!

My Opinion About The Book.....

I really like The Secret Life Of Bees book that we are reading. It's very interesting to me. I love how the author is very detailed when she explains things. I hate how life was back in the days where the blacks could not be in the same place as the whites. It seems like everybody hated black people. I think they just judge before they even know the people, because most black people are actually really nice and beautiful. Look at me! Just playing, but I don't think there is any difference between colored people and non colored people! I love how this book is so detailed to where you can picture what's going on in your head. I really get interested in books like this!

The Quenn Bee In The Book.....

I think that the queen bee in the book is Lily because the book is coming from her point of view. The author wrote the book in Lily's point of view. So it makes the reader think that Lily is telling the story about it, which makes her seem like the queen in the story.

Some things I learned from the bee video were:

1. Queen bees can sting more than one person or animal without dying right away.
2. Male bees get kicked out of the hives when the weather is cold, so in the Winter.
3. Bees can't see the color red.
4. Bees are attracted to scents, perfumes, deodorants, and stuff like that.
5. Queen bees live the longest!
6. Bees die after stinging someone.
7. Male bees don't sting people.

Free Writing!!!!!!

This weekend was so beautiful! The weather was awesome. On Sunday my family had a barbecue. It was my parents, me, my two kids, my brother and his girlfriend, and she has 7 kids, and my aunt and her 5 kids, and 2 of them have their own kids, and my uncle billy and his wife and there 2 kids. It was a full house! The barbecue was at my parents house because they had a bigger yard than anybody else in the family. We ate hamburgers, hot dogs, steak, and some ribs! The food was so great and yummy! To drink the adults had beer and us teens and kids had soda pop. We all played games together as one big happy family. Some games we played were, bean bag game, dodge ball, cartoon tag, and duck, duck, goose! It was so much fun playing kid games with adults. I love getting together with the family, it really brings us closer together.

My Bedroom!!!!!

My bedroom is a place where I can chill and relax. As soon as you walk in the bedroom you can smell the love spell scent in the air. It just makes you smile! After you walk in, to the left there is a walk-in closet full of clothes, and shoes. Then, next to the closet there is a bathroom. My shower curtain is blue with cute little ruffles on it. My rug and toilet seat cover are also blue because that's my favorite color! Then my bedroom has a big window, and I have blue curtains covering it. My queen size bed with blue colored bed sheets and blankets is right under the window! Right next to my wonderful bed is my little night stand which has a touch lamp on it so I can read at night when I cant sleep. I also have a door in my bedroom which leads to the outside back patio! I really use that door because I'm a smoker, and when my kids are asleep, I can go smoke out my door in my lovely bedroom!

Lily's Situation.....

Some ways Lily could have dealt with on the situation with Rosaleen being in jail are:

1. Lily could have waited until Rosaleen's time was up, then ran away together.

2. Lily could have asked T-Ray to help her get Rosaleen out of jail.

3. Lily also could have dressed up like a nurse, or doctor and then went in there and get her out of the hospital the right way instead of running, it would have gave them more time.

Ciara Beversdorf!!!!!!!!!!

We started as strangers, then became best friends. Ciara Beversdorf is really awesome in a lot of ways! She is 16 years old, my height which is about 5'8. She is Caucasian and has reddish-brown hair.We are totally the opposite, but now are inseparable! Whenever I need her, she is there for me in a heart beat. I also tell her things that I never tell anybody else, and she keeps that to herself! Although she has her days where she is goofy, she still is my best friend, and I love her to death. She loves to fart every time she is at my house. If we ever stopped talking, I would remember her by her burping, and farting. She always makes a funny face when she belches or farts. She also is very outgoing when we are together because she will sing and try to dance. One thing I really love about her is that she always asks me to teach her or show her how to dance like I do. Then when I show her, and she actually tries so hard, even though she may look goofy. If I ever say something that really makes her mad then she'll say, "oh, wtf?" It really makes me laugh because it happens every time! She also is very communicative because she is always on her phone texting her friends. If I had to pick one person in the whole wide world to die with, I would choose Ciara Beversdorf!

Civil Rights Movement....

The Civil Rights Movement was a worldwide political movement for equality in 1955- 1968, in Southern states. Rosa Parks was known as the mother of the civil rights movements. She fought for rights, because they were racist and wanted her to sit in the back. In 1964 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was the youngest man to receive a Nobel peace prize. The Jews were more involved in the civil rights movement then any other white people were.

In the summer it can get up to 103 degrees there! One sport that was born there was Nascar racing! Although they have over one hundred golf courses there and their very popular for water sports too!

Imaginative Story

It was the middle of the night and suddenly I remembered that I left my two kids in the car outside with the keys too. We had gone to my parents house that night at about 9:00 p.m. We returned home around 11:00 p.m. My kids were sleeping, so I was just going to get them after they slept a little bit. Then I just totally spaced that they were in the car, and fell asleep. Then I woke up around 12:30 a.m. and remembered that they were in the car. I ran outside in my pajamas, and the keys were also in the car. Thank God my kids were okay, and they were still there. I then just woke them up, and carried them into the house. I sat up all night crying tears of joy, because my kids were okay. That made me learn a lesson. Never leave kids alone in the car!

If I could take a sudden road-trip I would go to Cancun, Mexico. Ever since I was little I always wanted to go there. I speak Spanish fluently, so I think if I went there it would be so fun because I could speak Spanish to people there and they would look at me and say, "esa morenita si habla espanol!" I just really need a vacation, and Cancun would be the best road-trip ever! I would only go to other states if I was able to speak the language there. Since I only speak Spanish, I would only go to Mexico.

My Life 20 Years From Now

I'm 40 years old, and my name is Katrina. I have 6 kids, with my lovely husband Gilbert. We have a 2 story house, that I painted baby pink. I'm a pediatrician, because I love kids very much. My husband is a teacher, because he also loves kids. I have a jeep, and my husband has a Chrysler 300. I still have my best friend from the GED program which is Ciara. We are still very close. Her husband Josh and my husband Gilbert are really close too. I'm actually the God mother of her children! I don't really talk to anyone else because their bums now. They are into drugs again just like it was 20 years ago. They never changed. Well that's my life now, I really miss my life 20 years ago when I was in school. I feel like I grew up too fast, and now I'm almost a grandma. My daughter is 23 years old and pregnant with a little boy. She is due in 2 more months. I love my life right now though!

Super Power.....

If I could have a super power, I would choose the super power Matilda has. She can look and focus on something and that thing will do what she thinks. If she wanted the light on, she would just point at it and then it would turn on. I would choose this one because I could sit down and be lazy, and have things done for me, instead of having to get up and turn the TV on, or turn the light off. My life would be so darn awesome. I'm pretty sure I would get lazy, but I really wouldn't mind that. If I woke up late for school, I could use my super powers to help me get done faster, so I would get to school on time.

This I Believe.....

I believe that children are a gift from God. Because children are very special. There are some women who cant have children, because of certain reasons like maybe their body doesn't have the things that it's supposed to have, in order to make a baby, or they could be physically ill. These types of things mean they couldn't ever have a child. Having children is very special. Having a child is a gift!

When I was 16, I was doing drugs, drinking, and sleeping with guys I didn't even know. Then I met the father of my children and I partied with him,and still did drugs. Then I slept with him, and things happened.Then I found out I was pregnant, and during my whole pregnancy I was planning out how I was going to change my life for my baby. Since I was only 16, I was really scared to have a baby. I was still in school, and doing really well. I kept thinking that as soon as I told my parents, they were going to kill me.I thought wrong because my mom was upset at first, but later she was very happy for me; she supported me all the way. Then after my daughter was born, and I saw her beautiful face, I knew I could change my whole life for her.

So I changed my life, and now it's much different in alot of fantastic ways. I don't do drugs, party or sleep with any guy. I also have good self-esteem. So anyways, it was like God knew that me having a child would help me do things much better in my life which was correct! Children aren't just a gift from God, they're also a blessing!

Children are definitely a gift from God. I always thank the man up above for giving me my two beautiful children. Without them who knows where I would be. I know if I didn't have my children I would still be running the streets, doing drugs, and just living a lost life. Children are the best gift that anybody could ever have!

Things I Dislike And Like About Salem

Some things I hate about Salem are the gangs. It bothers me that all these little teenagers think they're hard, saying they're in gangs. All about color, and race. I don't want my kids in school and influenced by gangs, or people that make bad choices. And some things I like about Salem is that Obama is our president. Hopefully we won't hear the "N" word ever again. I have been called that word plenty of times, and trust me it's very annoying, and it also makes me really mad. But other than people that are rude like that, Salem is not that bad. I also love it in the summer time because my whole family gets together and goes camping, or we have barbecues, which is very nice. I love it when my whole family gets together, it's so nice to talk with everybody in my family.

Why I Believe Standing Up For My Friends And Family Is Important

I believe It's important to stand up for my friends and family because they are special to me, and they have a place in my heart. If somebody was rude and ignorant to me, I would like it if my friends or family stood up for me too. That's why I would do the same back to them. I'm the type of person that if you mess with my friends or family, or just somebody that I love, then you got to mess with me. I'm not going to let it slide for nothing! One time my little cousin was having girl problems with someone at school, and she called me because she was scared. So the next day I picked her up from school, and ran my mouth off to that girl. And apparently it worked because she never said a word to my cousin since. The same thing happened to one of my friends before, but we had to actually fight these girls because they were trying to jump my home girl, and I got in to help her out. My little saying is, " If you're going to start something with me, my family, or friends, then you better finish it, or I will." And I mean it when I say it.

Genocide

Genocide is people who have a series of killing people because of who they are, their race, and color. I think this stuff might happen because their sick in the head. Or they just have hate for other people. Another possibility could be that their trying to get back, like maybe that certain group of people messed around with their little group, so they are just trying to get back at them.

Having a Baby

Something I have experienced recently was having a baby.
Having a baby is not as bad as everybody says. Ya it
hurts and everything, but then again its actually really
cool, and worth it. After my baby was born, I was still in
pain. My stomach pain was the most outreageous pain
in the world. That's the only thing about having a baby that
I would regret. Then they grow up to be big brats! And
that's why I don't want any more kids at this time.

The world with no laws

If there were no laws I think this world would be a big disaster. When I say disaster I mean everybody would be doing whatever they want. It would be like we own the place. Young teenagers would be buying beer and buying drugs like candy. I think if there were no laws there would be alot of deaths because people would get away with anything they want. Its actually a good thing there are laws because if not like I said in the paragraph, this world would be a huge disaster. With laws, people are kind of controled, like they have rules, and most people obey the laws.
